ZETA S. JENKINS

Zeta Smith Jenkins, 79, of the 400 block of Connecticut Ave., died Saturday, April 8, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital. She was born in Jacksonville, N.C., and grew up in Trenton, N.C. She was the widow of Ralph B. Jenkins, and was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jenkins was a Registered Nurse for over 46 years until her retirement in 1983. She was a graduate with a B.S. Degree of the St. Vincent DePaul Hospital School of Nursing in Norfolk, the Catholic University in Washington, D.C., the Anthony Brady Maternity Hospital in Albany, N.Y., and attended Old Dominion University. She did postgraduate work in polio nursing at the Public Health in China Town in New York City, and studied mental health nursing at the Seaton Institute in Baltimore, Md., and was a member of the Red Cross Nurses Association. The last ten years of her nursing career she served as the Administrative Supervisor and Chairman of the Professional Nurses Registry.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy S. Chrisman of Portsmouth; two brothers, Winford W. Smith of Norfolk and E. Clayton Smith of Chesapeake.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 1995, in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the Cox Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2 till 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church.
