Mr. James Whitehurst, 92, of the 900 block of Dogwood Terrace went to be with the Lord on April 5, 1995.
Mr. Whitehurst was the widower of Rochelle R. Whitehurst.
He leaves to cherish his memories 4 daughters, Marie Reid, Armentia White, Laverne Whitehurst-Wilkins, Alveta Whitehurst; 4 sons, William Whitehurst, David Whitehurst, Reuben Whitehurst of Norfolk, Reginald Whitehurst of Kuwait; two sisters, Otilia Lawrence, Hattie Wiley of Norfolk; one brother, Dennis Whitehurst of Virginia Beach; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his personal pastor: Wayne N. Rodgers and Darlene Rodgers.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday at Graves Funeral Chapel by Pastor Robert Mason of ``Calvary Revival.'' Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery. Family and friends may meet at the home of Dion White, 837 Pine Harbor Dr., Norfolk. ILLUSTRATION: Personal photo
