On Wednesday, April 5, about 8 p.m., a clerk working at the Texaco station in the 2500 block of Campostella Road was robbed at knifepoint.
While holding the clerk with a knife to her side, the suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, in his late 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 160 pounds with a medium complexion and short curly hair. He was wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans. PORTSMOUTH
On Dec. 2, Margaret D. Teele was on her way into Food Lion in the 3900 block of Twin Pines Road when a young man rode up on a bicycle and tried to take her pocketbook.
Teele was knocked to the pavement during the attack and had to be taken to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for a broken hip and arm.
She remained under nursing care until Dec. 10, when she died from complications.
Investigators are still looking for the attacker.
He is described as black and in his teens. He was riding an older-type bike and was last seen heading into the Peach Tree housing section across the street from the shopping center. VIRGINIA BEACH
On Wednesday, March 8, about 5 p.m., a fire was reported in a house in the 1300 block of Independence Blvd.
Investigators said the blaze, which caused about $60,000 in damage, was intentionally set.
Between Sunday, March 12, at 3p.m., and Monday, March 13, at 1p.m., someone broke into the same house through the front door and removed almost everything in the home. Items taken included leather furniture, tables, lamps, beds, televisions, stereo, clothes, a tanning bed, phones, fur coats and pots and pans.
Investigators believe thieves used a truck and took several hours to remove the property. Someone passing by on Independence Boulevard may have witnessed the men taking the items. HAMPTON\ On March 28, at 8:20 p.m., a man entered Little Caesar's Pizza in the 1100 block of N. King St.< The robber was armed with a black handgun when he approached one of the employees.
Before the robbery was completed, both employees fled through a back door.
The robber is described as white, 30 to 35 years old, about 6 feet tall, with a medium build, unkempt long brown hair and a beard. He was wearing a blue hooded jacket. NORFOLK\ On Wednesday, March 28, around 11 p.m., a 28-year-old Old Dominion University student was returning to his home in the 1000 block of W. 48th St. near the campus.
The student had just left a 7-Eleven store on Hampton Blvd. when he was confronted and robbed by two young men armed with a .22 caliber rifle.
As the assailants removed money from the victim's pocket, one of them became angry. The victim grabbed for the rifle but was shot several times in the leg.
The robbers escaped in a gold or tan car.
The first robber is described as black, 18 years old and about 5 feet 5 inches tall. He was wearing a blue baseball cap and a ski jacket. He was armed with a rifle.
The second man is described as black, about 18 years old and was wearing a tan flannel shirt. by CNB
