HEALTH CARE
Joan Damsey was elected president of the board of trustees for St.Mary's Infant Home through 1997. The Norfolk infant home is a non-profit residential health care facility for severely multihandicapped children.
Damsey is president of Damsey and Associates, a medical practice management firm. She is also director of practice management with the Eastern Virginia Medical School.
INSURANCE
Stewart J. Sacks was named general counsel with Stewart Title and Associates in Chesapeake. He will be involved in all facets of the company's operations.
Sacks, a real estate attorney, was a partner with Faggert & Frieden in Chesapeake.
LAW
Charles A. Polen was elected a member of the law firm of Kershner and Hawkins in Virginia Beach. Polen has been with the firm since 1993, and specializes in federal employment law, military matters, personal injury, bankruptcy, divorce, and spousal abuse.
The firm's name will now be Kershner, Hawkins and Polen.
Deanna Reiss and Kenneth A. Moreno joined Edgar H. MacKinlay in his Norfolk law firm as associates.
Reiss was a tax attorney with Ernst & Yound in Virginia Beach. His area of concentration is international law.
Moreno practiced law in Williamsburg. He also has a master's degree in public administration in health service management. The firm will practice business, international and immigration law.
The firm, formerly known as MacKinlay & Best, has been changed to Edgar H. MacKinlay.
MUSEUMS
Gilbert P. McMillan Jr. was appointed director of development with the Virginia Marine Science Museum in Virginia Beach. He will also direct the museum's membership program.
For the past seven years, McMillan has served as director of both alumni relations and annual giving with Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk.
REAL ESTATE
Aubrey L. Layne Jr. was named vice president of administration with Great Atlantic Real Estate in Hampton. He will be responsible for the administration of the company's property management operations.
Layne had been president of Hofheimers Inc. in Norfolk.
SHIPBUILDING
Jack Finnegan was named manager of commercial marketing with Newport News Shipbuilding. He will be responsible for global marketing and sales of the shipyard's commercial ship new construction designs. His initial focus will be on promotion of the Double Eagle product tanker.
Finnegan was a marketing manager with New Sulzer Diesel, U.S. in Savannah, Ga.
STOCK BROKERAGE
Scott & Stringfellow Inc. promoted John R. Caldwell Jr. and George F. Shipp vice presidents to first vice presidents in its Norfolk office.
Caldwell joined the brokerage firm as an investment broker in 1992. Shipp, a research analyst, joined Scott & Stringfellow through a merger with Investment Corp. of Virginia in 1989. He is a chartered financial analyst and holds a master's of business administration degree.
UNITED WAY
Local businessmen chosen to lead the 1995 United Way campaign are: David A. King, general partner with CommVEST Associates in Norfolk, chairman; Robert A. Hunter, Hampton Roads president of First Union National Bank of Vir ginia; first vice chairman; Charles Wickliffe Moorman,vice president of information technology with Norfolk Southern Corp. in Norfolk, second vice president; and C. Max Bartholomew Jr., district manager with Virginia Power's Virginia Beach district, third vice chairman.
MID-ATLANTIC
Matherine E. Wilson was appointed director of financial planning with CSX Corp. in Richmond. She will be responsible for the company's financial planning and investor relations programs. She will also serve as the primary contact person for research directors, analysts and portfolio managers that follow the company.
Wilson, who holda a law degree, joined a CSX predecessor company in 1969. She was chief quality and compliance officer for CSX Transportation, the company's rail unit. MEMO: Career Track reports upper-level executive and management changes. Items
