Janette Sears Nathan, 97, died April 9, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Nathan was born in Norfolk. She was the widow of Louis F. Nathan. She was a member of Congregation Beth El in Norfolk.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte N. Schlitz and her husband Judge Lester E. Schlitz of Portsmouth; a son, Marvin N. Nathan and his wife, Anita of San Francisco, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Ada Sears Miller of Los Angeles, Calif.; five grandchildren, Bonnie S. Loeb and her husband, G. Hamilton, David M. Schlitz and his wife, Stafania, both of Washington D.C.; Anne Nathan of San Francisco, Calif.; Susan N. Hammer and her husband, Bruce of San Francisco, Calif. and Steven Nathan of Alexandria, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Molly Loeb and Max Loeb, both of Washington, D.C.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 1995, in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Arthur Ruberg and Cantor Jacob Tessler. The family will be at 210 East Road, Portsmouth 23707. Memorial donations may be made to charity of choice. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
