BRUCE S. MATHEWS

Bruce Stuart Mathews, 66, of 1505 White Dogwood Trail, died April 8, 1995.

A native of Crittenden, he was the son of the late James Timothy and Anna Louzette Parker Mathews and widower of Ruth Gayle Mathews. Mr. Mathews was an assistant manager for the Virginia A.B.C. Board. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Newport News, a member of the Nansemond Masonic Lodge 77, the Khedive Temple of Norfolk, the Scottish Rite of Portsmouth, the Loyal Order of Moose 1119, Newport News and the American Legion Post 25, Newport News.

Survivors include his daughter, Sheri Lynn Fulk of High Point, N.C.; two sisters, Georgie Christine Bailey of Newport News and Anna Louzette Holt of Hampton; one brother, Richard Kenneth Mathews of Newport News.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, by the Rev. Damon E. Wyatt. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Bennett's Creek Rescue Squad, 3885 Bridge Road, Suffolk, Va. 23435 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1413, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
