Chester Sam ``Chet'' Daniels, 78, of the 1300 block of Amelia Ave., died April 10, 1995, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Daniels was born in Lynchburg, Va. He was retired as a detective from the Portsmouth Police Department and was also a former state tax collector.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Stansbery Daniels; a sister, Nannie of Lynchburg, Va.; and a brother, Elvin Daniels of Newport News.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Tom Potter. The family will be at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today and also at 1303 Amelia Ave., Portsmouth.
