Applications are still being accepted for the 1995 Hutchins Allen & Company Small Business of the Year Award. The award will be presented at a luncheon during Small Business Week on May 4 at the Penguin Isle Restaurant in Nags Head.
The award is co-sponsored by the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce, Service Corps of Retired Executives, and Hutchins, Allen & Company, CPA's.
Speaker for the luncheon will be Frank Batten Jr., president and publisher of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star. Batten, 36, is a Norfolk native with a masters degree from the University of Virginia.
``This award is designed to honor the small business on the Outer Banks which is not only operating a profitable business but is making a difference in our community,'' said to Sandra Allen, partner of Hutchins Allen & Company.
