Three unrelated incidents interrupted electrical service in the city Monday.
About 11,200 customers were affected, but only 250 were without power for more than 30 minutes.
Junius H. Williams Jr., a spokesman for Virginia Power, said power was restored to all customers by 5 p.m.
A pole caught fire in the Port Norfolk section, cutting power to about 5,700 customers Monday afternoon.
About 250 waited 40 minutes before power was restored, Williams said.
The others were hooked up again within 15 minutes.
Late Monday morning, Williams said, 500 customers lost power when a pole caught on fire on Washington Street in Olde Towne.
Power service also was interrupted to about 5,000 customers early Monday afternoon when a substation transformer went out, Williams said. by CNB
