Police found the body of a man in the James River near the 800 block of Terminal Ave. Monday morning.
The victim was identified as Shelton Lee Kelley, 46, of the 600 block of Pennsylvania Ave., in Hampton.
The cause of death was uncertain pending an autopsy report.
Police spokeswoman Patricia L. Mahaffy said no information was available on how the body got into the water or how long it had been there.
