Russell Louis Cornett, 53, a lifelong resident of Waverly, died Friday, April 14, 1995, in his home.
Mr. Cornett was the son of the late Horace S. and Virginia Holt Cornett. He was a member of Waverly Baptist Church and a retired truck driver from Don's Trucking.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Jones Cornett; a daughter, Evelyn C. Ford of Matoaca; four sisters, Pat C. Jackson of Waverly, Peggy C. Cook of Ivor, Linda C. Hawk of Hopewell and Mary C. Jones of Zuni; and a granddaughter, Hannah Morgan Ford.
Funeral services will be held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. R.J. Cutchins. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Volunteer Rescue Squad or the Sussex Unit of the American Cancer Society.
