Silas Fletcher Sr., 75, of Route 1, died April 12, 1995, in an Asheville hospital.
A native of Ashley County, Ark., he was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of Gatesville Baptist Church. He was a retired accountant. Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by his son, William Michael Fletcher.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Carolyn Wilson of Sunbury; two sons, Silas Fletcher Jr. and Robert Fletcher, both of Winton; two sisters, Alice Harris of Croosett, Ark., and Katheleen Carlson of Portsmouth, Va.; a brother, Marion Fletcher of San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert May. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
