ELEANOR M. SMOUSE

Eleanor May Smouse, 70, of 84th Street, died April 13, 1995, in her residence.

Mrs. Smouse was born in Boston, Mass. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Virginia Beach. Mrs. Smouse was a life member of the Girls Scouts of America, where she served as area chairman and was the recipient of the THANKS Badge. She was also a volunteer for Virginia Life Saving Museum on 24th Street and a volunteer as a Red Cross driver.

She is survived by her husband, Ramon L. Smouse; two daughters, Janet L. Garner of Virginia Beach and Cathy M. Kilcoyne of Alexandria, Va.; three sisters, Agnes Gates of Dennis, Mass., Jean Tootell of Brewster, Mass., Martha Catten of South Yarmouth, Mass.; and four grandchildren, Amber Garner, Christopher Garner, Casey Kilcoyne and Kyle Kilcoyne.

A church service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church of Virginia Beach by Dr. J. Scottie Griffin. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast ``A Place for Girls'' scout camp, 4190 South Plaza Trail, Suite 200, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452-1931. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
