Christene Taylor Johnson, 72, of the first block of Lake Circle in Henrico, N.C., and formerly a resident of Portsmouth, Va., died April 14, 1995, in Portsmouth.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Nansemond County, Va. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church, Gasburg, Va., and a member and past matron of Miriam Chapter (NU)94, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, W. Nelson Johnson Sr.; two sons, Kenneth Earl Johnson of Portsmouth and Walter ``Buddy'' Johnson of Galena, Alaska; three sisters, Mary Taylor Lawson and Ann Taylor Chappell, both of Suffolk, and Virginia Dare Taylor Hudson of Hampton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Greg Hand. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m. The family will also be at 308 Thelmar Lane, Portsmouth, at other times.
