Garnet Bosley Peed, 96, of the 400 block of Sussex Drive, died April 13, 1995, in her home.
Mrs. Peed, a native of Jacksonville, W.Va., was retired from the Fiscal Department of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She was a member of Court Street Baptist Church; a member of the Portsmouth Women's Club; and was an honorary member of the Cradock Music Club. She had served as a Navy Yeomanette during World War I and was the widow of Samuel Boone Peed.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Sue Willis of Portsmouth; a sister, Gertrude B. Bond of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Garnet Anne LeCompte-Spaulding, Guy W. LeCompte, Margaret E. Basquez, Kenneth L. LeCompte, Carol V. Willis, Martha S. Willis and Paul N. Willis; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may join the family Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, and other times at the home. Memorial donations may be made to the Martha Davis Cancer Treatment Center. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
