Ellen Inez Brooks Evans, 86, a retired bookkeeper for Mae Nottingham Dress Shop of Norfolk, died April 15, 1995.
A native of Matthews, she was a daughter of the late James Landon and Lilly Inez Davis Brooks and the widow of Leonard Edgar Evans. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and a former member of Norfolk City Union King's Daughters Circle.
Survivors include her daughter, The Rev. Ellen Davis Lang of Plainfield, CT; a son, Staff Sgt. (ret) Frederick Graham Davis, III, of San Antonio, TX and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Bob Vaughn. The family will be at the home of Richard and Edna Brooks Turner, 15533 New Towne Haven Lane, Carrollton. Memorial donations may be made to Providence United Methodist Church, 3105 Providence Road, Suffolk, Va. 23434.
