Ruth Marie Forbes Baker, 77, of the 5000 block of Langston Road, died April 14, 1995, in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Baker was born in Elizabeth City, N.C. She retired from Hampton Roads Port of Embarkation, was a member of Community United Methodist Church, Sentara Senior Citizens and was the widow of Mr. Thomas M. Baker Sr.
Survivors include a son, Thomas M. Baker Jr. of Chesapeake; a sister, Dorothy Elizabeth Harrison of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren, Ruth Ann Thibault, Diana B. Chappell and Paul Martin; and three great-grandchildren, Nichole Thibault, Christopher Thibault and Christopher Chappell.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Walter A. Whitehurst. The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. Donations may be made to The Shriners Crippled Children's Hospitals.
