Betty Jo Smith, 65, of the 2100 block of Chesapeake Drive, died April 14, 1995, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Smith was born in Vanceboro, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Queenie May Harrington Allen. She was the widow of Ray Lee Smith and was a member of the Women's Home League and the Salvation Army.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Ray Dudley of Chesapeake, Linda Waddell of Havelock, N.C., and Lisa Larson of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; two sisters, Annie R. Gibbs of Englehard, N.C., and Janet Thompson of Baltimore, Md.; one brother, James Franklin Allen of Highlands, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by Capt. Rick Mikels of the Salvation Army. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. There will be no public viewing or visitation. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
