Joseph D. Compitello, 78, of the Kings Grant section of Virginia Beach, died April 16, 1995, in Sentara Bayside.
Mr. Compitello was born in Amityville, N.Y. He had retired from Grumman Aerospace. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was an avid golfer and played frequently at Red Wing Lake Golf Course.
Survivors include his wife, Iris Farless Compitello of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Suzanne F. Compitello of Virginia Beach and Debbie Jo Compitello of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sons, Robert J. Compitello of Forrestburgh, N.Y., and Dennis Compitello of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Josephine Arujo of Long Beach, N.C.; and a brother, Thomas Compitello of West Islip, N.Y.
All services and burial are private. Arrangements are being made by Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel. Contributions may be made to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.
