Mr. Joe M. Masich, age 66, of 250 Danford Road, died Saturday, April 15, 1995, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Masich was born in Lynch, Ky., on Sept. 24, 1928, and was the son of Josephine Jakapovich of Lynch, Ky., and the late Joseph Masich. He retired as superintendent of Atkinson Dredging Co. after 36 years of employment. He was an antique car enthusiast. He was a member of St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church of Shallotte, N.C.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Bobbie G. Masich of the home; three sons, Michael Masich of Chesapeake, Va., Stan Hamilton of Crowly, La., and Stephen Hamilton of Bolivia; a daughter, Monica Masich of Boiling Spring Lakes, N.C.; a brother, George Jakapovich of Lynch, Ky.; a sister, Barbara Topolsky of Corbin, Ky., and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 18, 1995, at 3 p.m. at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, Cedar Road, Chesapeake, with the Rev. Phillip Porcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Supply Chapel.
