CHARLOTTE ANNE BEALE

Charlotte Anne Beale, 76, died April 16, 1995, in Virginia Beach.

She was born in Portsmouth, Va., and attended public schools at Churchland, Va. She received a B.A. from Westhampton College in 1939, an M.A. from the University of Florida in 1940 and an M.Ed. from the College of William and Mary in 1956. She retired as a guidance counselor at Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth.

She was a member of Court Street Baptist Church and over the years served as president of the Women's Missionary Union, taught Sunday school, was clerk and in charge of the flower program. She was a charter, founding and life member of the A.A.U.W. and twice served as its president. Other affiliations included membership in the Portsmouth Study Club, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, the American School Counselor Association and the American Counseling Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mac. H. and Mitchell L. Beale and is survived by many relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be private at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
