Lizzie Waco Goodman Hopson of the 3600 block of Princeton Place, a retired certified nurses assistant, died April 16, 1995, in her home.
Mrs. Hopson was born in Fairmont, N.C., and was the widow of Junius Hopson. She was retired from Maryview Hospital after 28 years. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and Martha Chapter (NU)10, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis A. Goodman of Chesapeake and Deborah F. Sellers of Norfolk; four sons, Samuel C. Goodman, Donald R. Goodman, both of Hopkinsville, Ky., Raymond S. Goodman of Virginia Beach and Gregory L. Goodman of Portsmouth; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one uncle, David London; three sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She is also survived by three stepchildren, Eloise Hopson Baker, Audrey Hopson Smith and Junius Hopson Sr., all of Portsmouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. John E. Jones. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery, Fairmont, N.C. Viewing will begin at noon today in Corpew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.
