TACT HAS NEW LOCATION: The Tidewater AIDS Crisis Taskforce, a non-profit organization serving clients with HIV/AIDS, has a new location. The new offices will be at 9229 Granby St., on the second floor. TACT will move during April. No services will be disrupted during this time. The office will be closed on May 1 to finalize the move but will reopen at 9 a.m. May 2. Call 626-0127.
OFFICERS ELECTED: A new slate of officers has been elected to the Norfolk Electoral Board, which oversees all elections held in Norfolk.
John R. Doyle III was elected chairman, Julian F. Hirst was elected vice chairman, and James E. Mathews was elected as secretary. Doyle is a former assistant commonwealth's attorney, Hirst is a former Norfolk city manager, and Mathews is a former electoral board chairman.
The board is responsible for all aspects of local elections, including ballot and polling place preparation, vote-counting supervision and election result certification. by CNB
