George Lee Lassiter, ``Trustee Lassiter,'' 64, of the 300 block of Beechdale Road, died April 18, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
He was born in Cofield, N.C., and retired 10 years ago as a teletypist from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 35 years of service. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Chesapeake, where he was Church Treasurer, a Trustee and member of the Brotherhood and Church School. He was an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Annie Ruth Combo Lassiter; three daughters, Ruth L. Lassiter and Monetta Jenkins of Chesapeake and Virginia Mead of Oakland Calif.; a son, George L. Lassiter Jr. of Hampton; two sisters, Cleopatra L. Banks of Yorktown and Elva L. Riddick of Hampton; three brothers, Roscoe L. Lassiter and Grady Lassiter of Hampton and Paul Lassiter of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; two aunts, Cora Ramsey of Como, N.C., and Saratogo Brown of Willow Grove, Pa.; and a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in New Hope Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Sidney Foster. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be today from noon to 8 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, Portsmouth, and Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
