LEONARD D. ANDERSON SR.

MCPO Leonard D. ``Mr. Andy'' Anderson Sr., U.S. Navy (Ret.), 53, of the 3000 block of Camelot Blvd., died April 17, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

He was born in Brent, Ala., and had retired as a master chief after 30 years. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Chapter (NU)40, Camelot Civic League, and was block captain for the Camelot Neighborhood Watch.

Survivors include his wife, Esther A. Anderson; five daughters, Carolyn Hardaway of Alexandria, Va., Shelley Kirby of Portsmouth, Shelia Bowman and Ja' Net Anderson of Chesapeake, and Celeste Anderson of Norfolk; five sons, Roy Bowman of Waldorf, Md., Walter Bowman, Leonard Anderson Jr. and Lawrence Anderson of Norfolk, and Brian Bowman of Oxon Hill, Md.; his mother, Marie Anderson of Youngstown, Ohio; four sisters, Marie Williams of Detroit, Mary Waldron, Ola Mae Anderson and Betty Shinn, all of Youngstown; four brothers, Ossie Anderson Sr., R.D. Anderson Jr., Ray Anderson and Jesse Anderson, all of Youngstown; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Hood Chapel AMEZ Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Clarence A. Cuffee Sr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park with military honors. Viewing will be at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth. The body will be taken to the church prior to the funeral. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
