MISSING MAN FOUND

A 72-year-old Norfolk man, who had been missing since Monday, was found in Fredericksburg early Wednesday, police reported.

Albert Shields left his home in the 900 block of Wolcott Ave. at 9a.m. Monday to have his taxes prepared. He didn't return.

He was found by police Wednesday at 5:15 a.m. and taken to a hospital in Fredericksburg for dialysis, police said. He had missed a dialysis appointment Monday.

Police said Shields had not eaten breakfast or taken his medicine Monday and became disoriented.

He drove as far as Annapolis, Md., where he was stopped for speeding early Wednesday morning, police said. He was given a ticket and then tried to find his way back to Norfolk.

Shields was stopped again while driving through Fredericksburg. Police there ran a check, discovered he was reported missing and took him to Mary Washington Hospital. He returned to Norfolk on Wednesday afternoon, police said. by CNB
