If Dalton S. Edge was watching TV Tuesday when the City Council selected him to become one of their number, he must have had second thoughts.
Why would anyone want to be part of such an unhappy, quarrelsome, ill-tempered bunch?
The moment he takes office, Mr. Edge will be the only member of that body who has never cursed, insulted, humiliated, walked out on, gossiped about or back-stabbed one of his colleagues. His measure as a councilman may be in how long he can maintain that record.
