Oceana Naval Air Station make repairs to a house in the 200 block of
Gimbert Drive as part of this year's Reside With Pride Project in
Virgnia Beach. The theory behind the program is that deteriorating
houses can pull down entire neighborhoods, encourage crime, further
neglect and a declining tax base for the city. Volunteers, like
Petty Officer 1st Class Joe Joyce, right, have been making repairs
each week in April.
