John Thomas Brown, 83, of the 900 block of Ann St., died April 17, 1995, in Norfolk.
Mr. Brown, a native of Portsmouth, was a retired painter from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hill Brown; a stepdaughter, Sandra Matlock; two grandchildren, Thomas L. Singleton Jr. of Virginia Beach and Sandra Sumpton of Chesapeake; eight great-grandchildren; and a devoted caretaker and friend, Harold Richardson of Norfolk.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 1995, in Oak Grove Cemetery. Foster Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
