Albert L. Bonney Sr., 78, of the 4000 block of N. Witchduck Road, died April 20, 1995, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Mr. Bonney, a native of Princess Anne County, was a well-known businessman in the area for most of his life. He was a former city councilman and was active in the civic affairs of Virginia Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Evamae I. Bonney; two sons, Albert Lee Bonney Jr. and wife, Netti of Virginia Beach and Larry Ray Bonney and wife, Judy, also of Virginia Beach; a grandson, Albert Lee Bonney III and wife, Lorrie; a granddaughter, Kimberly Bonney Berger and husband, Jay; four great-grandchildren, Albert Lee Bonney IV, Katie Bonney, Brandon and Christopher Berger; four nephews, Vernon, Fred, Clinton and William Bonney; and a cousin, Melva Ives.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall/Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. John Shappell. Entombment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Virginia Beach Unit, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513, or to a favorite charity. The family will receive friends at the residence, 4012 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, following the entombment.
