PAUL E. WAFF SR.

Mr. Paul Edsel Waff Sr., 63, of 323 Hickory Fork Rd. died April 19, 1995. A native of Chowan County, Mr. Waff was a son of the late John Edward and Hettie Layton Waff and the husband of Sarah Hollowell Waff. He was a shop supervisor in construction, former partner in the Waff Brothers Construction Company, a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church where he was a deacon.

Other than his wife, Mr. Waff is survived by a daughter, Debra W. Gurganus of Williamston, and a son Paul Edsel Waff Jr. of Edenton. There are four sisters: Hettie Wallace of Edenton, Doris Bunch of Edenton, Kathleen Byrum of Tyner, Juanita Spruill of Roper; four brothers: Edward Waff of Edenton, John Waff of Burgaw, N.C., Maurice Waff of Edenton, and Alvin Waff of Hampton, Va. There are five grandchildren Jonna, Paul, and Mary Catherine Gurganus of Williamston, and Stephanie and Cameron Waff of Edenton.

Mr. Waff was preceded in death by a sister, Mildren Bunch.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Macedonia Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Young. Burial will follow in the Waff Family Cemetery. The Evans Funeral Home of Edenton is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the residence.
