Arthur Gene Stamper, 68, a retired Navy master chief petty officer, died April 19, 1995 in Virginia Beach.
Mr. Stamper was born in Lee County, Ky. He was a Methodist and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Joan B. Stamper of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Pamela Lake of Virginia Beach; a son, Stephen L. Stamper of Texas; his mother, Bessie L. Stamper of Kentucky; three sisters, Ada Hawley and Elizabeth Anne Cannon, both of Florida, and Mattie Duncan of Kentucky; a brother, Dale Stamper of Florida; and five grandchildren.
A private service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Davis Corner Rescue Squad, 4672 Haygood Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23455 Attention: Treasurer for Donations.
