Isreal Evelyn Riddick, 84, of the 900 block of Quail St., a homemaker, died April 19, 1995, in DePaul Medical Center.
Born in New Bern, N.C., she was a member of New Bethlehem Church of Christ Disciples in Norfolk. Evelyn was a member of the Mothers Board, Choir, Usher Board, Helping Hands Club, and was active in Sunday School and many other church activities.
Survivors include her husband, Jessie J. Riddick; five daughters, Hattie B. James of Brooklyn, N.Y., Carolyn James, Evelyn Wills, Alvania James, Brenda Anderson, all of Norfolk; two sons, William L. Simmons of Philadelphia, Willie James Dixon of Norfolk; foster twins, Henrietta Nelson and Henry Boston of Norfolk; stepdaughters, Beulah Gray; stepson, James Riddick; a brother, Pemiliton Gregory of Norfolk; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law; three sons-in-law; and a host of friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in New Hope COGIC, 3232 Brest Ave., Norfolk, by Elder Proctor Freeman. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
