Elenora V. Gilchrist of the 1500 block of Centerville Turnpike, died April 19, 1995.
Mrs. Gilchrist was the widow of Thomas L. Gilchrist and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Gilchrist and Shirley Gilchrist, both of Virginia Beach, and Ella Person of Chesapeake; four sons, Clarence Gilchrist, Joseph Gilchrist of Virginia Beach, Thomas Gilchrist of Connecticut and Bobby Gilchrist of New Jersey; a half sister, Lenora Bennett of New Jersey; a brother, Octavious Billups of Neptune, N.J.; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Dr. William D. Scott. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Commuity Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
