David Johnson of the 200 block of W. 38th St., a self-employed farmer, died April 19, 1995, in Halifax County Medical Center.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Johnson of Manhattan, N.Y.; three daughters, Essie Rivera of Bronx, N.Y., and Mazie Bowens and Shirley Cotton, both of Manhattan; a son, William A. Johnson of New York; four sisters, Mamie Johnson of Sanford, N.C., Irene Johnson of Trenton, N.J., Rosetta Johnson of Detroit and Susie Lynch of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Edward Johnson of Delaware and Leon Johnson of Hampton; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Cecelia King of Drakes Branch, Va.
A funeral will be held at noon Monday in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home. Burial will be in Jones Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing at 4 p.m. Sunday and a wake service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. The family will assemble at 219 W. 38th St. at 11 a.m. for the processional.
