Councilman Peter P. Duda Jr. committed an unforgivable act.
He consorted with known Democrats.
As punishment, the party bosses denied him the vice mayorship, a job he truly wanted and thought he had earned, choosing instead a man whose allegiance is beyond question.
Is Mr. Duda too thick to understand that all the fine speeches about unity, cooperation and compromise on the council were never meant to be swallowed whole by anyone but gullible voters?
With proper rehabilitation, perhaps one day Mr. Duda can learn to be a good, loyal party member again. But he'll have to work at it. The first step will be to learn to love the feeling of that knife sticking in his back. by CNB
