Lorenzo ``Pete'' Edwards, 74, of the 1700 block of Atlanta Ave., a retired longshoreman, died April 22, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Edwards was born in Southampton County. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Edwards; two daughters, Florie Mae Edwards and Joann Williams of Portsmouth; a son, Vernon Holloway of Newark, N.J.; a sister, Gladys Bynum of Chesapeake; two brothers, Joe Lee Edwards of Portsmouth and James Edwards of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. John Jones. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Serenity Funeral Home and noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 1728 Atlanta Ave., Portsmouth, at 1:15 p.m. for the processional to the church.
