OUT TO `GET' WARNER?

The Republicans are having a field day and feeling quite smug as their Contract With America agenda goes sailing through. History will, no doubt, prove what a disaster most of the program will be.

One of my concerns is how they seem to be out to ``get'' Sen. John Warner because of his refusal to endorse Ollie North last November.

Virginia has had its fill of politicians who blindly follow the will of the party. Which is more important, the good of the party or the good of the people of the commonwealth?

What we need now (and what we certainly have in Senator Warner) is a statesman who follows the will of the people who elected him.
