Vernell E. Mason, 42, of the 2100 block of Concord Drive, a retired supply clerk, died April 21, 1995, in a hospital.
Mrs. Mason was born in Norfolk County. She had retired from Naval Aviation Depot. She was a member of New Mount Olive A.M.E. Church, the Stewardess Board and the Usher Board.
Survivors include her husband, Larry D. Mason; twp daughters, Laverne Watkins and Damita Mason; her mother, Mayrose Moon; her father, Abdula Shakir; her stepfather, Alfred C. Moon; two sisters, Glenda Murray-Kelly and Diane Manley; two brothers, the Rev. James E. Murray and Michael G. Murray; grandparents, Moses Murray and Hattie M. Goodman; and one grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Mount Olive A.M.E. Church by the Rev. James H. Johnson. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The body will be placed in the church at noon. The family will be at the residence of her mother, 249 Dexter St. E., Chesapeake.
