Jesse Gerald Smith Sr., died April 20, 1995.
At his request, no services will be held.
Mr. Smith was born on Feb. 23, 1927, in Greensboro, N.C. He served with the U.S. Army Air Force in Germany from 1944 to 1946, and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. He moved to Wasilla in 1976.
He was formerly employed at the Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach, Va., and retired in 1987 as a transportation investigator for the municipality of Anchorage.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Tacie Bass Smith of Wasilla; daughter and son-in-law, Sherrill Tacie and Robert Hudson of Durham, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Jesse Gerald Jr. and Susan Smith of Willow, Alaska; grandchildren, David and Kate Hudson of Durham, N.C., Jesse Gerald III and his wife, Amy Smith of Cheyenne, Wyo., Corri and Thomas Graves Smith of Willow, Alaska; brother and sister-in-law, Donald J. and Sandi Smith of Crystal River, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Joseph McCarthy of Severna Park, Md.; and special friends, George and Florence Garnes of Wasilla.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1057 W. Fireweed Lane, Suite 204, Anchorage, AK. 99503. Arrangements were by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
