Samuel Pearl Boyce, 67, of Route 1, died early Monday morning, April 24, 1995, in Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
Mr. Boyce was born in Gates County. The son of the late Herman David and Mrs. Pearl Stallings Boyce, he was a retired logger. He was a member of Water Swamp Hunt Club and the Gates County Hunt Club. He attended Warwick Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Mae Nixon Boyce; two sons, Carlton R. Boyce of Gates and David G. Boyce of Hobbsville; his stepmother, Eunice Baines Boyce of Edenton; one half-sister, Elizabeth Ann Parrish of Edenton; two half-brothers, Edward Lee Boyce of Chesapeake and Roger T. Boyce of Franklin; and six grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Nixon Family Cemetery, Rocky Hock, by the Rev. Billy Presley. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 9 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gates County Rescue Squad.
