Calvin H. Lawrence Sr., 80, of the 2200 block of Effingham St., died April 22, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mr. Lawrence was born in Suffolk. He was a member of Poplar Run Baptist Church (Bennetts Creek) and Alpha & Omega Lodge of Masons (NU)46. He was retired from the Naval Amphibious Base after 33 years.
Survivors include his wife, Irene K. Lawrence; a daughter, Dr. Janet I. Lawrence; a son, Calvin H. Lawrence Jr.; two sisters, Blanche Bess and Bertha Crocker; two brothers, T.J. Lawrence and Tommie Lawrence; and a daughter-in-law, Amanda Lawrence.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Poplar Run Baptist Church (Bennetts Creek) by the Rev. James Williams. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will be at Fisher Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
