REMEMBER WARS

Although well-written, and I'm sure with the best of intentions, I must take exception to staff writer Elizabeth Simpson's column of April 23.

The statements ``Will the Vietnam War always be with us?'' and ``Now, like an unwelcome guest, the war won't go away'' were uncalled for. We should never forget, or let go away, the memories of any war. One of the reasons for always remembering wars is the hope that these memories will help in some way to prevent future wars.
