Ruth Janet Hill, 69, of the 800 block of Wilbur Ave., died April 24, 1995, in Norfolk.
She was born in Shenandoah. Mrs. Hill was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Chesapeake, and was treasurer of the Women's Ministries and taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Miron Hill Sr.; a daughter, Wanda Morgan of Virginia Beach; three sons, Miron Hill, Gene Hill and Jeryl Hill, all of Chesapeake; three sisters, Alice Sutton of Chesapeake, Doris Jean Ballance of Lowland, N.C., and Betty Brewer of Medford, Ore.; four brothers, Stewart F. McDorman Jr. of Norfolk, Harry McDorman of Shenandoah, Leo McDorman of Portsmouth and Archie McDorman of Miami; and five grandchildren, Vickie Garrett of Virginia Beach, Angie Hill of Chesapeake, Deanna Schattenberg and Dawn Schattenberg, both of Virginia Beach, and Michelle Hill of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bethel Assembly of God, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Ken Gates. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family will be at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
