HENRY A. ACOSTA

Henry A. Acosta, 69, of the 2300 block of Croix Drive, died April 25, 1995, in Virginia Beach.

He was born in New York City and was a member of Church of the Holy Family. He was a retired lieutenant of the New York Police Department and also retired as a professor from the University District of Columbia in Washington, D.C. He retired in 1971.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Acosta; a daughter, Olga Marie Acosta of Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Peter Acosta of Baltimore; his mother, Theresa Acosta of Baltimore; two sisters; one brother; four grandchildren; and four stepchildren, James, Kathleen, Patricia and Edward Van Scoyoc.

A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Church of the Holy Family by Fr. Richard T. Mooney. Burial will be private. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
