USAIR MAKING FEW CHANGES IN NORFOLK

USAir Group Inc., which is restructuring flights everywhere it flies to save money, will change little about its service at Norfolk International Airport, a local representative said Tuesday.

``We didn't really get our schedule reduced because we're prime in the summertime,'' said Mary Greer-Landon, USAir's Norfolk station manager.

The Arlington-based airline plans to reduce the number of daily flights in Norfolk by two to 35, she said. It will eliminate two redundant flights and will put larger planes on the remaining routes.

In a new service, USAir's daily morning flight to Tampa, Fla., will continue on to Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands, Greer-Landon he said.

The airline is also putting larger aircraft on routes to Norfolk to handle the anticipated surge in summer passengers, she said.

The changes will be in place by June 19.

USAir also restructured its schedule at Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport. The airport announced Monday that USair will add a third daily flight to its Pittsburgh hub, but replace three daily flights to its Charlotte hub with two daily commuter flights. by CNB
