FAMOUS EMANUEL SPELLMAN

Famous Emanuel Spellman was born to James and Johnwillie Spellman on March 29, 1955. He expired on Monday, April 24, 1995, at 2:00 p.m. For the last 14 years, Famous was employed at the Naval Base in the Public Works Center as a linesman.

Famous was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He served 3 years in the Army and took airborne training.

He leaves behind two sons, Famous E. Cotton, Famous E. Spellman Jr., a step-daughter, Candida Hannah, a devoted companion, Cynthia Hannah, six sisters, Thelma Vaughan of Somerset, N.J., Sandra Spellman-Campbell of Bronx, N.Y., Willie M. Jones of Los Angeles, Calif., Addie M. Irby of Chesapeake, Va., Lillian E. Slade of Virginia Beach, Va., Helen S. Wray of Somerset, N.J., and two brothers, Calton Ford of Chesapeake, Va., and James Spellman Jr. of Norfolk, Va.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church on 1608 Liberty Street in Chesapeake on Saturday, April 29, 1995, at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home.
