LINNIE B. PURVIS

Linnie Bell Purvis, of the 1200 block of Great Bridge Blvd., a housewife, died April 23, 1995, in a local health-care center.

Mrs. Purvis was born in Bethel, N.C. She was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, James I. Purvis Sr.; three daughters, Barbara Purvis of Virginia Beach, Regina Kindred of Middletown, Ohio, and Linda Purvis of Chesapeake; four sons, Robert Askew and James Purvis Jr. of Norfolk and John Purvis and Rufus Purvis of Chesapeake; three sisters, Mary Durham and Novella Hill, both of Robersonville, N.C., and Sadie Briley of Baltimore, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronnie Joyner. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Arrangements by Graves Funeral Home. Friends may join the family at the residence. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m.
