GRACE J. COVINGTON

Grace Jackson Cov-ington, 69, of 105 West Church Street in Edenton, N.C., died Wednesday, April 26, 1995, in the Chowan Hospital in Edenton.

Mrs. Covington was a native of Tyrrell County, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Shadrick Stonewall Jackson and the late Elsie Mae Colston Jackson Hassell, and was the wife of the late Joe P. Covington. A devoted mother to her five children, Mrs. Covington was a member of the Edenton Baptist Church, and worked for the Chowan County Health Department for 25 years.

Survivors include: one daughter, Joanne C. Ambrose of Edenton, N.C.; four sons, Joe Covington Jr. of Norfolk, Va., Michael Covington of Kensington, Md., Jeff Covington of Greenville, N.C., Alan Covington of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Hubert Jackson of Frisco, N.C., Shadrick S. Jackson Jr. of Moyock, N.C., and nine grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 28, 1995, in the Edenton Baptist Church with Dr. Kenneth Word and the Rev. Jim Hyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at the home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 216 S. Broad St., Edenton, N.C. 27932.

Evans Funeral Home in Edenton is in charge of arrangements.
