Clarence Melvin (Duke) Booker, of the 2400 block of Barre St., died April 25, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Booker was born in Norfolk County. He retired from civil service at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae Booker; a devoted cousin; two devoted nieces, Alvahdine W. Owens of Chesapeake and Estelle W. Elliot of Norfolk; six sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church by the Rev. John Davis. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park.The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. Friday. There will be a wake service from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk. The family will assemble at noon Saturday for the processional at 1507 Colon St.
